Yeast Infection: Symptoms

Posted by admin On March - 1 - 2009

You can treat a yeast infection and have the cure delivered to your door.

Yeast infections, depending on what part of the body is affected, can come with a variety of symptoms.

Women who have a vaginal yeast infection, for example, usually notice a white “cheesy” discharge from their vagina.  This discharge may also be accompanied by itching and burning sensations not only in the vagina, but also in the surrounding area.  Urinating also produces pain. Sometimes a woman experiences pain during sexual intercourse because of these infections.

Oral candidias, or thrush, appears as white lacy patches in the mouth, most typically showing up on the tongue and on the palate. Many people think the patches look like milk curds.  They try to wipe them off but can’t. In fact, if the white growth is removed with a blade or even a cotton tip applicator, the underlying tissue may bleed.

This infection also appears in some individuals with the opposite look.  The tongue appears redder than normal and has no white coating at ll. If you’re plagued with thrush, you’ll find it very painful to eat.  One of the first concerns is to make sure you don’t get dehydrated, because even drinking water can be painful.

While candidal organisms naturally live on the skin, there are times when the breakdown of the outer layer of the skin encourages the yeast’s overgrowth. This has the greater chance of occurring when the environment is warm and moist.  For adults, these areas include the natural folds of the skin, as in under the breasts.

You’ll recognize the candidal skin infection because it’ll appear as a red flat rash with sharp scalloped edges.  You’ll also notice that these are accompanied by similar looking smaller patches. The medical community calls these “satellite lesions.”  These smaller one may also cause itching and pain.  The same rash may be found in babies as a diaper rash.

If you have a weakened immune system, a candidal infection can cause not only pain, but it may also cause dysfunction of one or more of your organs.  For example, the infection esophagitis of the upper gastrointestinal tract may extend from the mouth to the esophagus and even to the stomach.  Not only does this condition cause painful ulcers throughout the entire GI system, but it may spread to the intestines.  If it does, the infection may very well inhibit the proper absorption of food. Individuals afflicted with this type of yeast infection are also in danger of become dehydrated.

Finally, if Candida enters your blood stream, you may become seriously ill.  Sometimes the infection is accompanied by a fever, but many times there is none present.  If left unchecked and the yeast infection is allowed to spread to your brain, you may experience distinct changed in your mental function or your behavior.
